BRRRRR

Talked to dad today. He and kid from Fremont are up at the farm. Dad wanted to get the blind in the slough checked out and cleaned up so get this..... He and Josh waded through 400 ft of waist deep water to get there.... BRRRRRRR..... I didn't even want to go waterskiing in TX today. That is one tough crazy old coot. ;-)

So it sounds like Roger should bring his boat instead of his ATV, and I should bring my waders... and with standing corn, maybe I should have spent my money on beer instead of a tag. HA!

Seriously, do we need to find a small, light john boat. And should and will we need to have waders?

We should be able to get to the blind from the highway side without wading... I have no idea why the old farmer didn't go that way... I think he was showing off for his buddy Josh. (kid from Fremont that drives up with dad on weekends when he doesn't have school) A set of waders from someone might not be a bad idea in case a deer gets in there though.

I don't have any and I don't know anyone who hunts ducks who has carries the same wind coefficient as I - that of a bowling all. And size short fat in a wader ... well.

I've got a good set of insulated waders in case somebody drops one in the middle of a flooded slough. I was just kidding about the flood, things should dry out some by turkey day.

I would not count on things being dried out it has been raining off and on for the past week and a half. We are looking at the loss of a bean crop that has been coming in as high as 50b per acre. I have some waders and will bring then. Philip can use them to go get my deer. ;)

I haven't heard anything from the Old Farmer, so I guess he is ok with us using the Chevy hood for a jonboat, if needed.

We do have an old pickup hood that we have rigged up for pulling behing a snowmobile, that would work with a ATV. I also have a trailer that is made for a golf cart/atv that the bed tips down to ground level, and we can use that to load a deer. (Deerkiller, I am still able to load a fawn into the back of a pickup).

Guys I will still shoot the small one because you don't need any help loading or butchering them. Plus the airlines are charging for extra bags ;-)

THE HOOD - As Senator Claghorn (the big red chicken, I think in a cartoon) used to say: "That's a joke, son." I was pulling (trying to pull) Gary's leg about that fine classic chevy he has.

Might have worked if he didn't have so many real junk cars lying around.... ;-)
