Food Plots

Just got a phone call from Randy O., the guy who will pick my corn plots. We had a 1/2 inch of rain last night, so he can pick this afternoon, I will make a quick trip to the farm, and hopefully will get the new crop planted today or tomorrow.

More later, the old farmer

Update II.
Got the plots planted, we only had a trace at the farm, while 2 miles away, they had 1/2 inch of rain. Randy wouldn't pick the plot over by the lake, he didn't think there was enough left to bother, and the snow had really laid it down. I just disked it down, the ground was just yellow with ears, so the pheasants and deer shouldn't starve this summer. I had to find a different type of corn to plant, as last years corn was "roundup resistant", so I wouldn't be able to spray the volunteer corn with anything. They have another corn that is "liberty" resistant(a new chemical) so I will try that. I didn't have a chance to plant any sorghum strips, so there will be lots of high cover for the animals to hide in. later, the old farmer

Chris:
Do you think that you will have either vacation or comp time built up by thanksgiving time?

Yeah, I should be able to make it out at least for the long weekend. Not exactly sure how it all works yet. I'll find out next week!
